What are the most common battery terminals?

Battery terminals are the electrical contacts used to connect a battery to a charger or a load (a device that needs energy). These terminals have an extensive array of sizes, designs and characteristics. In this article we will be discussing the 14 most common Sealed Lead Acid Battery (SLAB) terminals.

1) F1 Faston Battery Terminal:

The F1 Battery Terminal is usually found on batteries used for home alarm systems, toy cars, fish finders and many other products. The position of F1 Terminal might vary between different types and sizes of batteries. The F1 terminal measures 3/16″ (0.187″) – 4.75mm wide. It is also knows as TAB 187.

2) F2 Faston Battery Terminal:

The F2 Battery Terminal is usually found on batteries used for UPS Systems. The F2 terminal measures 1/4″ (0.25″) – 6.35mm wide. F2 terminal positions are usually at the top of the battery. The F2 terminal is also known as TAB 250.

3) Faston Polarized terminal: There are two different terminals on this battery. Positive Terminal F2 and Negative terminal F1. A good example of this is the HR1224W battery.

The terminal on this battery is a spring. The negative and positive terminals are fully collapsible. This type of terminal is found in flashlights and lanterns.

11) B, T6 terminal:

Threaded Insert 6mm stud. Notice the width of the terminal is 16mm. The stud is 6mm

12) T8 terminal: Threaded Insert 6mm stud. On the T8 terminal, the stud is also 6MM, but the the insert is 20mm wide.

13) T11 terminal: Threaded Insert 8mm stud. On the T11 battery terminal, the stud is 8mm. The terminal is 20mm wide.

14) T12 terminal -: Threaded Insert 5mm stud. On the T12 Terminal, the width is 12mm and the stud is 5mm.
